La vie en Rose

Few weeks a go we attended one of the biggest lolita events in Europe; La vie en Rose by Street Fashion Europe and French Cafe!

We were happy to have a selling booth and showcase our new collection at the designers fashion show. The whole event was just amazing! The venue was super gorgeous hotel du Collectionneur, there was many Japanese special guests and the visitors themselves had put so much effort in their outfits! With so many unique outfits, this event was definitely the place to catch the most recent and upcoming lolita trends!

For me the best part was to see my wonderful lolita friends from different countries and meet other lolita creators and to make new friends! <3

I somehow managed to forget my camera to our apartment, but luckily other people took photos and gave permission to use them. :)

New collection: Moonlight Dance

Our new print collection is here and it is beautiful! :3 

Once again we collaborated with the amazing illustrator Minna Ainoa of Imagine and Do to create something spectacular! A print with moths, dragonflies, moons and other kinds of critters you don't typically see in lolita. 

Minna has a very unique soft touch in her pencil based illustrations, which in my opinion creates the perfect balance between these creepy critters and lolita fashion. The print is dream like, reminding us of summer nights, forests, spirits dancing around bonfire at the midsummer night...we wanted to give this collection a name that reminds us of those things and so we came up with Moonlight Dance.

The print comes in four colorways; pink, lavender, dark blue and dark red.

We decided to offer two kinds of jsk:s for this collection along with a skirt and a head bow. There is a high waist jsk with tulle lace that creates a softer look and a normal waist jsk for more sophisticated classic look. This time we also did another collaboration, wonderful Kuusade created matching jewelry for the new collection!

We wanted to give our customers the opportunity to ensure they can get the design and color in the size they need, so we opened the collection for reservations! 

The reservation period is open for two weeks, the last day for making a reservation is 15th of March.

If you wish to make a reservation check our facebook page  or storenvy for instructions, you don't have to have account for either of these sites, just send us an e-mail with your information, the type of dress, color and size you wish to reserve. This time we offer the dresses and skirts in 3 different sizes and we are happy to do custom sizing in case the offered sizes don't cater for your needs! Also for accessories, just drop us a line if you wish to have something different from the given options!

Heippa! Eli uusi printti mallisto on nyt ulkona! Printin on jälleen piirtänyt ihana Minna Ainoa, jonka kädenjälki on aina yhtä lumoavaa! Tällä kertaa hän loihti meille printin, jossa on sekalainen joukko hyönteisiä, kaloja ja kuutamo, printti tuo mieleen kesäyöt ja Juhannustaiat!

Suunnittelimme mallistoon tälläkertaa kaksi mekkoa, hameen sekä hiusrusetin. Lisäksi teemme myös yhteistyötä suomalaisen Kuusateen kanssa, joka suunnitteli printtiin sopivan upean korumalliston!

Kaikki tuotteet ovat nyt ennakkoon varattavissa Maaliskuun 15:sta päivään saakka. Varaamalla tuotteen ennakkoon saat varmasti haluamasi mallisen vaatteen haluamassasi värissä ja koossa. Mekot ja hameet ovat nyt tarjolla kolmessa koossa, mutta ennakkoon tilattuna myös mittatilaus on mahdollista! Valmiitakin mekkoja on siis myyntiin tulossa myöhemmin, mutta aivan kaikkia malleja kaikissa väreissä ja kokoisina ei ole tulossa, joten jos tiedät jo että haluat tietyn tuotteen se todellakin kannattaa ennakkoon tilata! Aluksi tarvitsee maksaa vain varausmaksu ja loppu summa maksetaan vasta sitten kun tuote on valmis, joten maksuaikaa on lähes pari kuukautta. :)

Reflector rosette tutorial!

Tein suomalaisen lolita foorumin Enfantterriblen joulukalenteriin pienen tutoriaalin Cloudberry Ladyn heijastin kunniamerkeistä. Vaikka kyseinen tuote löytyy myös meiltä myynnistä halusin antaa myös askartelusta kiinnostuneille mahdollisuuden tehdä itse oman heijastimensa!
Me suomalaiset kyllä aika hyvin muistamme heijastimia käyttää, mutta joskus kaupunkialueen katulamppujen loisteessa tekisi mieli jättää se heijastin kotiin kun eihän se sovi edes asuun. ;) Tällä tutoriaalilla voit tehdä todella loli sopivan heijastimen, joka mätsää täydellisesti omaan talvitakkiisi! I wanted to share a tutorial for our reflector rosettes!

This kind of reflector rosettes are also available at our Storenvy but we didn't want to keep the instructions for making these a secret! We want to give every lolita an opportunity to make one for themselves!

It's important to wear a reflector during the dark time of the year and we know how annoying it is to try to find one that doesn't completely ruin your outfit. Well this one doesn't, in fact it can make the outfit even better! :)

So lets get started!

Materials:

Piece of fabric

40cm of reflector ribbon (width: 2cm)

50cm of thin satin ribbon

30cm of lace or other decorative ribbon

4,5cm long safety pin

1 pretty button

You will also need scissors, needle, thread, glue and a sewing machine.

Working instructions:

Ribbon part:

1. Cut a 18 x 6cm square piece from the fabric.

2. Cut two pieces of 10cm from the lace and sew them next to each other on the center of the fabric.

3. Cut a 10cm piece from the reflector ribbon and stitch it on top of the lace.

4. Fold the fabric and cut triangles out of the corners. Iron seam allowances (1cm) of the long sides to the back side of the fabric. 

5.Fold the fabric's back side on top and stitch the head of the ribbon together, leave the sides open!

6. Turn the fabric and make sure that both sides are neatly on top of each other. Put the safety pin trough the top edge and sew the long sides neatly. I like to start next to the safety pin and stitch along the edges.

Preparing the rosette:

1. Cut three 10cm pieces from the reflector ribbon. Cut one of them half vertically.

2. Glue pieces of the satin ribbon on the centers of the wider reflector ribbons.

3. Glue one of the wider ribbons first to circle and then glue it to it self from the center.

4.Glue the other wider ribbon across the first one.

5.Glue the thinner ribbons crossing the wider ones.

6. Sew by hand trough the whole thing, the glue might not be enough to hold it together. If you don't like using glue you can just sew the rosette together. 

7. Gather a 10cm piece of the lace to a circle and sew it on the center of the rosette. 

8. Sew a button on top.

Joining the pieces:

1. Sew the ribbon you made earlier and the rosette together by hand. Sew the rosette from one of the thinner loops. 

2.Put the thin satin ribbon trough the loop and glue it on top of the stitching of the reflector on the ribbon part. Burn the raw edges.

3.Make a little bow from the excess satin ribbon and glue it on the top of the ribbon part.

Done!

This time I wanted to share new about our new webshop!
Like many of you know we used to sell our items trough our own website and you had to send us e-mail to place your order.
We wanted to make things a little bit easier and decided to start our own Storenvy store!

Once you have registered to Storenvy it's possible to order the products using the shopping cart!
But if you don't wish to use this site we are still happy to accept orders trough e-mail. Simply send e-mail to Cloudberry.Lady@gmail.com and tell the product name, size, color and your address. In the reply we will let you know that the product is reserved for you and the payment instructions. Please note that it might happen that someone buys the product trough storenvy before we manage to reserve it for you. If it happens we will try to make a new product if we have materials left and we will message you of the situation righ a way.

Shoes

One of new product lines we have added to our selection is shoes.
All of our shoes are handmade in Finland. Emma Tsurumoto is the gifted footwear designer behind our shoes.

The project starts with us discussin the new models and Emma finalizing the design. Then she looks for the right shoe lasts, rigth now we have a bit of problem with finding lasts but hopefully we will be able to order some full sets in the future. Next she grafts the patterns, cuts the leathers and sew the pieces together.

We have decided to use real leather on our shoes because it's durability is the best and it shapes to the wearers foot making it more comfortable to use.

 The shoes get their final shape from the shoe last.

For the heel we sometimes use leather sometimes ready made heels. The inner and outer of the shoe is almost always leather. As decoration we might use other materials as well.

We only make the sample pieces of each shoe model (except for the bow -shoes). Cloudberry Lady shoes are made to order. The sample pieces are made to showcase the design of the shoes or sometimes to be used in fashion shows. Eventually we will also sell the sample pieces of each model but they are always some random sizes. But really the point is that you can get any model in your own size and color of your own choise. (Well atleast as long we can find the last and leather to be used for your shoes.)

Oli kyllä ihan mielettömän mahtava päivä, ohjelma oli mainiota ja väkeä tuli paikalle yli odotusten!

HelLo con was a awesome event with lots of high quality program and I had a superp day!
 A lots of people showed up which made me really happy. Our fashion show went well and the event was very succesfull in every way! Also the Lolita Complex concert was great! <3

Ensimmäisenä Cloudberry Ladyn muotinäytös! Bonnetit ovat Cloudberry Ladyn uusi aluevaltaus, samoin Emma Tsurumoton kanssa yhteistyössä tehdyt kengät jotka näkyvät asuissa 2,3 ja 5.

HelLo again!

"HelLoCon on lauantaina 23.2.2013 Kulttuuriareena Glorialla Helsingissä ensimmäistä kertaa järjestettävä tapahtuma japanilaisen lolita-katumuodin harrastajille ja siitä kiinnostuneille.

Ohjelmassa on mm. muotinäytöksiä, työpajoja sekä luentoja. Tapahtumasta löytyy sekä myyntipöytiä että kirpputorialue, ja paikalla on edustettuna useita kotimaisia indiebrändejä. Tule tekemään löytöjä!

 The first Helsinki lolita convention, HelLo con is nearly here! The event is on 23.2.2013 and it takes place in Gloria, Helsinki. You can get the tickets from here Tiketti

The quest of honor is baby the stars shine bright model Tocco and her band Lolita Complex! 

The band will have a concert after the event! :3

 Most of the program will be in Finnish,  but the numerous fashion shows and workshops suit to those who don’t know the language. Also the Q&A of Lolita Complex will be in english!

Lolita convention 2012 part II

Last summer we went to the lolita convention in Paris! First we were just planning to take a selling stand but the organizers asked if Cloudberry Lady could participate to the fashion show too.. ;)
