Cloudberry Teaparty mini fashion show

Järjestimme Cloudberry Teapartyt pari viikkoa sitten, muun ohjelman lisäksi pidimme siellä pienen muotinäytöksen, jossa esittelimme uutta Song bird-nimistä syysmallistoa ja muita uusia tuotteita. Tässä muutama kuva ja video näytöksestä.
 We had a little fashion show at Cloudberry Teaparty. We showcased our new autumn collection song bird and some other new products. Here's couple pics and a video of the show (it's a very poor quality due the bad lighting and our super crappy IT skills).

Cloudberry Teaparty

We held Cloudberry Teaparty a few weeks ago at a cafe located in Tampere.

Lots of cute and lovely lolitas and handsome gentlemen attended the event. We had a pretty ballerina performing two awesome pieces and a mini fashion show with our new autumn collection! Everybody loved the ballet performances and the show went well despite of some casualties on the backstage. ;D

Cons of last summer

Finally something about the conventions we attended last summer. The autumn was so busy with Cloudberry teaparty and everything that haven't had time to make this post before.

The first con was Desucon and we shared a table there with an amazing young textile designer; her company is called Q for kingdom. Desucon last for two days, we could have gone to set the table up on friday, but decided there's no need and so we hurried to Lahti early saturday morning. The stand proved out to be very small, it was extremely difficult to manage to display everything.  Somehow we managed to put everything together before the doors opened, but now we know that we just have to get more stands to showcase our stuff better.

 

Desucon is one of the largest anime-conventions in Finland, so it was really crowded at the selling section. We managed to spot many lovely cosplayers, but unfortunately there weren't so many lolitas. Someone said she had spotted only 12 lolitas on the 2 days the convention lasted. Eventhough lolitas were rare in this event lots of people expressed their interests towards both of us sharing the table, they were happy about the fact there are still people who produce their stuff in Finland instead of buying copies from China.

One comment made me extremely happy; one cosplaying girl commented this: "There's been two times when I've wanted to wear lolita, the second time was when Cloudberry Lady released the submarine dress." <3 Kiitos!

Next one was Nekocon, small con that is held in Kuopio.

Kuopio is quite far a way from Hämeenlinna where we are located so had a long drive to get there. We had to go there day early and "unfortunately" only reasonably priced hotel available was a spa...so we had a nice relaxation time before the con started! :P

Nekocon proved to be even smaller than we expected it to be, but the atmosphere was nice and even though there were only few lolitas it felt like it  was worth attending.

A weary seller after a really long and extremely hot day! 

Third con was Animecon in Turku, again we shared a stand with Q for Kingdom but this time we were smarter and booked a whole lot bigger one, but because we wanted the bigger one we had to go to the Finncon section which wasn't really that good for our products. However people found us quite well and looked for us to come and say hello, it was so nice so many of you came!^^

 

 

Cyber meets steam!

Last one was Tracon, but there we weren't allowed to sell clothes at the art section so we were just selling teaparty tickets and some art works. So many found us anyway and sat there to chat with us for a long time, so thank you guys a lot for making a really nice con!:3

Cloudberry Teaparty

Cloudberry Teapartyt ovat aivan pian! Jo tänä lauantaina! <3 Vielä muutama lippu on jäljellä joten vielä ehdit varata omasi.^^
Cloudberry Teaparty really is soon! This saturday<3 We still have couple tickets left (3 actually) so you can still get yours. :3 We are not selling any tickets at the door!

Teapartyjen ohjelma/programme:
-Kutsut alkavat n. klo 16.00/ Teaparty starts at 4 p.m.
-Teetä saa noutaa heti alusta asti ja santsikuppi kuuluu sisäänpääsyyn. :) / You can get tea right a way, and you can drink as much as you like. ^^
-Muotinäytös on n. noin puolituntia ovien avaamisen jälkeen./ The fashion show is around 4.30 p.m.
-Teapartyissa myös baletti esitys, kysy ja vastaa tuokia Cloudberry Ladyn pääsuunnittelijan kanssa sekä arvonta. / There will be a ballet performance, Q&A with Cloudberry ladys head designer and and a lottery.
-Tapahtuma päättyy n. klo 19.45 /The event ends around 7.45 p.m.

Traconin tunnelmia

No niin nyt on kotiuduttu Traconista, tosiaan ei Cloudberry Ladyn tuotteita oltu siellä varsinaisesti myymässä mutta mukava reissu oli silti.^^ Kiva kun niin monet löysivät kuitenkin sieltä pöytien paljoudesta ja tulivat tervehtimään, oli ihanaa taas nähdä teitä kaikkia! <3 Kiitos myös kaikille jotka ostivat Teaparty lippuja, nyt onkin enää vain muutama jäljellä!

Ohjelmaa en tällä kertaa käynyt katsastelemassa mutta siitä huolimatta jäi hyvä fiilis. Oli kiva nähdä myös niin paljon ihmisiä jotka olivat täysillä panostaneet asuihinsa (niin loleja kuin cossaajiakin) ja oli mukavaa kuulla kommentteja myös omasta taiteesta vaihteeksi. Se tietysti harmitti kun ei edes asuteita saatu myydä (no jotain saattoi pöydälle eksyä silti^^'),olisi upeaa jos tulaivaisuudessa Tracon alkaisi ottaa huomioon myös tälläiset pienyrittäjät (muut conit ovatkin jo aika hyvin tajunneet eron tälläisen yrityksen ja esim. backkarin tulotasossa). Tuumin tässä että olisi hienoa jos johonkin coniin tulisi käsityöläisille ihan oma käsityöläiskuja! Siinä ei tarvitsisi miettiä yritysten tulotasoa ym. vaan voisi helposti vetää rajan tiettyyn ryhmään! Harvoimpa käsityöläiset työllään pääsevät rikastumaan toisin kuin maahantuontia harjoittavat firmat (no harvat heistäkään pääsevät herroiksi elämään, mutta he saavat yleensä helposti hintavammankin pöydän hinnan coneissa tienatuksi). Olisiko teistä hauska saada coneihin tälläinen käsityöläiskuja vai onko se täysin turha?

So now I have returned from Tracon, didn't sell any Cloudberry Lady items there but it was still a lot of fun! It was nice that so many of you found us hiding behind all the other tables and came to say hi! It was so lovely to see you all again! <3 And thanks to you all who bought Teaparty tickets there, now there's only few tickets left!


This time I didn't go to see any program but it was fun non the less. It was great to see so many people who had put lot of effort on their outifts (lolitas and cosplayers) and it was nice to hear comments of my art for a change. Ofcourse it was upsetting that I wasn't allowed to sell even accessories there (well maybe something might have slipped to the table), I think it would be great it in the future Tracon would have some option for this kind of small businesses too.
Now I began to wonder why doesn't any convention have a handicraft section!
There's a lot of debate on the artists side whether people making handicraft should be allowed to sell their stuff at the art section or not. Having a separate section (or maybe at the same space but maybe a different prize) would solve this problem and also a problem with businesses like Cloudberry Lady (everything is handmade by me and bunch of friends but we try to make this a bit more professionally and lolita wear also takes lots of space, so sometimes we are not allowed to sell at the art section but simply can't afford the prizes at real selling section). So what do you think, would this kind of handicraft section to be a nice addition to cons or is it completely useless idea? If there was a handicraft section would you take your time to go there or even pay the money to sell you handicrafts there?
